Here it is; step 1 of assignment 1!

I'll admit, I anticipated this assignment to be significantly harder than what it was. I guess when you're in your first year and never completed a university assignment before you expect the worst and really overthink things. But, it wasn't that bad.

The toughest part for me was the amount of reading and even that wasn't so bad. I feel as though I exhausted my bookworm days loooong ago, although, having not read so much since Year 12, I surprised myself. (I may have even enjoyed it...)

The KCQ's were another challenge, but with Martin & Danielle's tips, it was achievable. I've come to realise, in the first few weeks of term and even before that, that the easiest way to manage and process large quantities of information is to break it down into chunks; chunking, if you will. I learnt about chunking way back when I was learning an orchestrated cello piece on bass for one of my HSC performances. When you're given an unholy amount of information, you need to dissect it and reduce it into smaller, manageable amounts. (Hint: it is much easier to recall and retain the basics this way!)

Good luck! I look forward to reading everyone's takes on step one!

I'd love to hear your thoughts about the Introduction and Chapter 1 and get to know your different perspectives! Feel free to read my draft and leave some positive or constructive feedback, I'd be happy to do the same! :)

Hi Kayla, I really enjoyed reading your step 1. You seem really keen to get into your degree and start chipping away at things. I could feel your curiosity and excitement about this subject. It was a good read. Thank you very much - Angela Louttit (Fellow Student).
